I used to play and love Chess in Elementary and High School. I have beaten and crushed a couple of players who are much older than I am. But I do not know why I stopped.

Now, this is isn’t about me since it is Tiny Signs’ Links and Kisses. My next “victim” is…

Andrew Ooi, or better known as GilaChess, who considers himself a chess patzer - has a couple of blogs, Gila Chess Patzer - his blog on chess and other related to it. He is a web developer from Malaysia who love chess and is struggling to get past rank 1600 in World Chess Network (WCN).

Aside from informations about chess, his Gila Chess Patzer blog talks about his thousand dollar experiment - taking him away from his usual chess topics. One post that caught my tummy was those cute chess cookies (**yummy**), here in the Philippines, we say “eat” the opponents pieces rather than capture. Those Flicker photos on the top part of his blog is nice.

The hosting service providers are providing services of storing information, images, video or any contents accessible from internet. These firms also providing domain hosting services through which we can register a domain name. The windows hosting services evolved from small simple sites with a few images into full blown web based hosted applications where end users can visit a site, interact with the web site owner and even purchase goods and services all over the internet. In hosting services, yahoo hosting services are also very well known according to its features. There are also lots of best web hosting service providers which are also known for best domain host services.

Aside from his Chess blog, he also has a personal blog which is new, he is trying to get to the Google No. 1 search entry for the keyword “Andrew Ooi” and is now hating the other Andew Ooi. My best bet is to try and get the META edited, and his first post title also edited since it still is slugged as “hello-world”.

Well, with his expertise, I think he would get to kill off Professor Andrew Ooi off the No.1 spot in no time!

I have personally tried some of his posts about having your blog reviewed or about reviewing other sites like Blog Raters, Practicing Reviewing Sites. There are also a lot of information about blogging contests such as Top 5 (where you could win $1,001!), and Web Analytics contest (an article writing contest on “The Future of Search Marketing” with a price of $400).

What I liked about his blog was the lack of obstructive ads which other blog put all over their site EXCESSIVELY, making me just click on the close button of my browser.  Link Ramblers’ clean theme would definitely earned a bookmark from me, which I am using every time I get online.

How do you combine medicine, science and technology? Is it even possible? Tiny Signs think so…

Kucau of Inside My Frontal Lobe just does it nicely and efficiently on his blog. This middle class man with a daily job, blogs about his interests on open source, gadget related, and scientific breakthroughs and is able to combine all three flawlessly with a hint of humour on his blog posts.

Although I am not into medicines (drugs as my friends would aptly call it. Hahahaha) or medical terms and science stuff aside of course from what is happening inside my 5-years-old computer – I have been visiting his blog a couple of times as I have learned about a thing or two about scientific things. I never thought there was even an alternative to ultrasound – which he discussed on Finding Out The Sex of Your Baby - I encountered a term, Y chromosomes, which I learned in Biology class in high school.

He also has a couple of website reviews and information about wordpress and blogging essentials. I instantly tried a couple of site reviews he has, like his review on whogets.com - an online sweepstakes contest, where users decide who gets the price; and get paid for blogging what you want which is a nice way of earning some money for just writing about a product.

The site also features a couple of funny pictures like top reason not to marry – a shirt that I want to copy, get reprinted by a friend. The fun doesn’t stop there, just head over his blog and read and look for more.

There are a lot of Filipinos overseas – may they be working or living abroad – is around 10 million or about 11% of the Philippine population. Some of my relatives have also migrated to the US, but they have not changed a bit – they still know Filipino, Pangasinan(Pangasinan dialect) and Ilokano (a dialect in Ilocos Region).

Two Perfect Weblog is a compilation of thoughts, interests and experiences of BJ – a blogger born in the Philippines and is now living in Canada.

He has a lot of post about his high school life, he actually listed his list of things to be done on his to-do.txt list. He talks about what transpired on his exams in Math and Physics, as well as, his English assignments such as reading and making an essay on The Wars and his review on the English Patient.

But not all his post is about his school life, I came across hisOne World Video (the making) which details his plans on his own video on the topic “one world” (I would be looking forward in watching his video soon). He also has shared his thoughts on using the windows scheduled tasks to automate reminders and tasks to be done, his collections of funny videos, are old but are still funny – some of it I haven’t watched.

I also tried a couple of sites he mentioned in the blog such as SP-Studio which lets you create your own South Park characters mention on his South Park Parody - Mac vs. PC Ads and a couple of new services like Joost (Invites here!), Zude, and Peopleized.

Although I have been reading his blog since he contacted me on my site, I have been having a hard time reading those quotes on his weblog because the font was so small (me having a problem with reading small font, needs to stare at the text a little longer to be able to read it.).

Aside from that, Two Perfect Weblog is just perfectly informative and so personal that it felt as if BJ is a relative of mine, as I read his posts.

They say that “wherever you throw a Filipino, he/she can make it big!”, well It has been proven that Filipinos are industrious, patient, and most hospitable people in the world - just plainly proud Pinoy.

So my next Links and Kisses review is about a Filipino oversea.

Culture Shiok - a Proud Pinoy blog talk mostly about Singapore, life of an OFW, and the Philippines. This Pinoy Veterinarian in Singapore does not only give you a place to visit in Singapore like The Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay, he also showed me where Singapore is with The Little Red Dot: Where in the world is Singapore? - I always thought it was near Japan (*giggles* well now I know a little on world Geography).

He has what you might call a cut above the rest of Filipino bloggers because of getting into the Philippine Top 100 in Technorati - that’s not all, he shared it in What I did to get a higher ranking at Technorati?

I’m your ordinary Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) going for my 4th not-so-ordinary year in Singapore.

There is nothing ordinary about Culture Shiok, he’s got a lot of friends (just look at the lengthy blogrolls he has.) and is one of those proud Filipinos working abroad and still got time to share a lot about his experiences to others.

While everyone is so busy applying those SEO tricks they have on their sleeves, someone from Kyrgyzstan (Kyrgyz Republic) is enjoying his PR 7 blog! Yeah! You heard me right SEVEN! That’s a lot of PageRank.

Ades, Abdylas Tynyshov in real life, maintains a couple of websites, which range from Web Design and Development Services, Web Hosting Services, links for WebDesigners and his Personal blog and is the first full time blogger from Kyrgyz Republic.

Didn’t I say he has a PR7 blog? Oh, well… A neat product of his is AdesClrPicker - a cool Color Picker tool for Windows, he developed which enables sits on your system tray and can get any colors onscreen. This is a must-haves for those struggling web designers who like me, who printscreen the page I need to get a color from. It is actually available for free trial downloads. A screenshot of the trial is on the right, dont you think you just need that Color Picker?!?

I just loved the color picker, with the floating menu, you can easily view the selected colors (although in trial mode, you only see the format in RGB). Over all, I think this application is great! Although I am not a photoshop user, I love the fact that I could easily select some colors off the screen without pressing the PrntScr key!

His site is just off the hook, not just because he has PR7, but his posts are must-read! He also has a lot to share.. So do visit his blog.. I would surely be one of his frequent visitors…

Untwisted Vortex, a blog maintained by Richard Timothy Cunningham, who prefers to be called RT, has a lot of things to share about his daily experiences, past and present, in a land where is considered a tourist (just because he isn’t born here) by most townspeople. (I personally wouldn’t consider him as a foreigner anymore, since he actually stays in the country, unlike some people I know who wants to leave the country)

His thoughts about blogging, to his thoughts on Piracy made me wanna read more of his blog post, which is conveniently ordered in the sidebars - he has his last 100 posts on the left and top 100 Post on the right. Another thing I have to mention about this blog is his Eight for One Deal, which is a great deal if you want those links - he actually will give you a total of 8 links in 6 months with just one link coming from you, you just have to read his instructions.

The trend of internet phone is increasing day by day because it offers free call service to other users regardless of their location. You can avail this service from skyp and communicate free with its other users all over the world. There are other lots of firms which are providing services of voip phones. But, most of the people at this time who don’t know about voip can study voip faq to know all about it. Many firms are generating revenue by providing just internet voip services.

This site is worth the visit, I would probably need a couple of days to read all his post that would interest me, like how he was able to get into the TOP 100 on Technorati Favorites, a couple of boobs playing pinay videos (the guys would just love this!) and just for plain reading pleasure like what has been happening to this Joe (how Filipinos would refer to an American in the country), and couple more hours to catch up with him writing about my site…

I’ve got to get to work. I promised Marielyn from TinySigns that I’d “drive-by” her blog and she’s relatively new. I need to pick her blog apart and offer some constructive criticism. She’s from Pangasinan, Philippines and practically a neighbor.

Nice4Rice is a blog by Spud Oregon, Nick Ramsey in real life - gives out free backlinks to everyone by commenting on his posts and giving out rice to sites he reviews on his site.

A little background… He is a British who now lives in Japan (since 1997) teaching English and a soon-to-be-dad married to a lovely Japanese, who has “I am not your maid!” as her favorite English expression (i actually remember a Filipino movie with that same line. *giggles* ).

His site has become one of my favorites because of the fact that I have gotten reviewed by him and because I love reading his reviews which he does so well, unlike me. I should just stick with programming, what do you think, Spud?

Well i hope, even without just this lousy screenshot I made of the site, I hope you get the picture here that a free backlinks to your site would do some great things to your PR, traffic, etc. BTW, those cute little bowl of rice are cute, the concept is nice too.
