Too Many Social Networking Trains - which one works?
While visiting a couple of blogs, I noticed most of them go into trains to increase their traffic. You may have also done this before, but here are my thoughts about it.
You have those Technorati Favorites, BlogCatalog, MyBlogLog and many more Trains, but I wonder if it really is effective. Well, for me (just my Tiny Signs thoughts) - if your site has an existing nice traffic with frequent visitors, readers who has accounts on those trains you join - you could actually increase your rankings/community on these sites.
A problem I encountered when I jumped into a train is getting run over. I posted my MyBlogLog Link Express train on the same day that I have decided that I am giving out link and reviews for a simple linkback from your site. So readers just read about the details of my newer post than read more about/join the train I just joined.
Another problem was the limitations of MyBlogLog in the number of communities you join, I stopped when I got to 15 - so I had to wait for the day to end before I could continue joining the rest of those listed on the train.
I haven’t tried any other train since my first train ride was a disaster, I almost got run over by the train which carried nice websites that has a nice number of readers and I would assume a couple of thousand Page Views per day. I only get 40~50 in the moment, thanks to a those who helped my start it out. Visit my Links and Kisses for information about them.
I am happy that with a couple of people, I have gotten a couple of traffic. It would be lie if I say that I do not want to be listed as one of your favorite sites, or get into those TOP 100’s of any title that could be associated to my sign, like TOP 100 blogs that sucked (maybe?) but I couldn’t help it but just try to get a little bit attention.
Overall, If you want to get you blog favorited or your community grow, try and learn from my mistakes. Do not just look around, try to get traffic slowly. I am getting little sleep this past few days, thinking about traffic. I almost imagine myself as a traffic aide pointing every single browser to my website. But don’t let me stop you from joining those trains. It may do you some good. In the meantime, I would just love it if you could just add me to your Technorati Favorites - just a couple of clicks wont do you harm, you also have helped me drive a little traffic to the site, join my MyBlogLog Community (another couple of clicks), then you might also want to just join my neighborhood in BlogCatalog.
I think every single train works, I am just so lazy trying them all out and my internet connection would not permit me to say long connected. Maybe, just maybe I could get a thinking cap off the flea market and use it to increase my traffic some more…

I find that the MyBlogLog wagon worked quite well for me since after tagging 3 new communities, I e-mailed them and told them that I tagged them, and that they should continue the link-chain.
Only 1 out of 3 people did continue it, but from that 1 person, who then tagged 3 people, who each tagged 3 people, etc. I got links from all over the place!
So when you tag someone, you should e-mail them right away so they can keep your branch of the chain growing… ^_^

@2Perfect, good for you! I didn’t wanna continue with the train anymore, I just found out one one of those three sites i posted was a blog. so because of my laziness of checking out the site before linking them, I actually end up giving them a free link which I would do to anyone. I just hope they check who are linking them and see the train, and probably give me some love back. /heh
@kucau, yes. I totally agree, but looking for a link loving site is just too much time off my programming and tutorial. well, laziness is my weakness.
@Brown Baron, Thanks for the fave! I checked out your site, I would love to review you one of this days.

I found the Technorati train effective. Though I would like to be linked to in a natural way too, after all of these schemes
Have fave’d you and linked to you as well.

Mybloglog is my personal favorite. Somehow it;s fun clicking on all the vistor avatars and checking out who’s been visiting your blog!!

yeah, It’s also nice way to get of traffic. You become curious of who that visitor was. And what his/her blog looks like.
